WHAT IS A SOCIAL DISTRICT?
On July 1, 2020, Governor Whitmer signed House Bill 5781 Into law creating the Social District Permit. Social Districts allow qualified licensees (e.g., bars, breweries, restaurants) to sell alcoholic beverages on their licensed premises in designated containers to be taken into the common area for consumption.

WHAT ARE THE LOOP SOCIAL DISTRICT HOURS?
You my purchase a beverage to enjoy in The Loop Social District
Monday through Wednesday 4pm to 9pm
Thursday through Sunday 12pm to 10pm.
*After closing ours, Social District beverages cannot be sold in participating establishments nor possessed or consumed by participants
CAN I BRING MY OWN CUP/ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES?
No. Only the designated plastic beverage containers received from a Qualified Licensee with The Loop, Grosse Pointe Social District branding may be used to consume alcoholic beverages within the district. No cans, glass bottles, or outside are permitted.
CAN I TAKE MY SOCIAL DISTRICT CUP OUTSIDE OF THE SOCIAL DISTRICT BOUNDARIES?
No. You must remain within The Loop, Grosse Pointe Social District boundaries while consuming the alcoholic beverages purchased from a Qualified Licensee.
CAN I REUSE MY SOCIAL DISTRICT CUP?
No. When ordering a beverage, it must always be served in a beverage container with The Loop Social District logo.
WHAT TYPES OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES CAN I HAVE IN MY SOCIAL DISTRICT CUP?
Beer, wine and liquor are all allowable drinks in a Loop Social District cup. Drinks must be purchased from an authorized establishment and have The Loop logo and business identification. Cups hold up to 16 oz of your chosen beverage.

Enjoy your Loop Social District beverage responsibly, within the social district boundaries
Please don't litter! When you're finished with your Loop Social District beverage, please dispose of it properly and help keep The Village clean!
One-time use only. That's right - you can only use each cup one time. But, that means you can visit your favorite qualified licensee again if you're still thirsty!
